About Walter

Walter Mayhew, the much-loved founder and trustee of HomeFront and respected member of the Millcaster community, inspired his fellow church goers to set up the organisation over seven years ago.

He is well-known for his late night TV appearances teaching on 19th century urban poverty and housing conditions.

His enthusiasm and energy have kept the organisation’s work and reputation alive for years, but HomeFront is operating in a harsher climate and his priorities do not always chime with those of new staff and board members.
